Patrick Rodriguez’s
Testimonial
Amanda and her team assisted with my grandfather’s end of life affairs. I can’t say enough about her handling of a very difficult situation. She was extraordinarily empathetic and at the same time extremely professional. It really felt like she was part of family. I highly recommend Kania Law if you need any services related to elder care.

PAYING FOR LONG TERM CARE
MEDICAID PLANNING
Private pay is expensive and intimidating. Medicaid planning is the process of making a client eligible for Medicaid by addressing an applicant’s income, assets, and recent asset transfers. Your attorney will walk you through each issue.
PRESERVE YOUR ASSETS
Private pay is expensive and intimidating. Medicaid planning is the process of making a client eligible for Medicaid by addressing an applicant’s income, assets, and recent asset transfers. Your attorney will walk you through each issue.
MEDICARE ISN’T ENOUGH
Medicare will only pay for 100 days of skilled nursing or rehab in a lifetime and of those 100 days, only the first 20 are fully covered. Medicare will only pay this limited benefit after you spend 3 days admitted into the hospital.
PLAN NOW
Medicaid planning and estate planning overlap. It is important to work with your attorney and plan accordingly. Clients should have an advanced directive, durable power of attorney, living will, and will or trust.
HOW WE HELP YOU
Begin sorting out your plans for long term care now. We often meet with clients during crisis planning, when the need for long term care was unexpected and the client needs Medicaid benefits in a hurry. However, advanced planning is a smart alternative.
